Agro Pastoral Entrepreneurship

Program Overview

Success in the modern agro-pastoral sector requires more than just farming skills—it demands a sophisticated understanding of business, innovation, and sustainable land management. The Agro Pastoral Entrepreneurship program at ISEST is designed to create a new generation of “agropreneurs” who can transform agricultural potential into profitable, scalable, and resilient commercial enterprises.

This program uniquely integrates mixed-farming systems—combining crop production and livestock management—with intensive business training. Students move beyond subsistence models to master commercial farm planning, investment analysis, and market-driven production. Available at the HND level with a clear path to a B.Tech, the curriculum emphasises self-reliance, leadership, and the adoption of “smart-farming” technologies to build a sustainable and wealthy agricultural future.

Main Objectives

  • To equip students with the dual technical skills of high-yield crop cultivation and commercial livestock production.
  • To develop advanced competency in business plan development, financial management, and agricultural investment modeling.
  • To teach modern, sustainable "Circular Economy" practices where waste from one production cycle becomes an input for another.
  • To train students in identifying market gaps, building strong agro-brands, and managing digital distribution channels.
  • To foster an entrepreneurial mindset that prioritizes problem-solving, risk management, and industrial scaling.
