While aquaculture handles controlled fish production, the sustainability of natural open-water ecosystems—lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and marine environments—depends on scientific conservation and regulated harvesting. The Fisheries Management program at ISEST prepares professionals to monitor, assess, and manage wild fish stocks, balance ecological preservation with economic demands, and enforce maritime guidelines.
The curriculum covers a mix of marine biology, population dynamics, aquatic ecology, and maritime law. Enrolling at the HND level and advancing to a B.Tech, students gain the field skills needed to calculate sustainable yields, track migration patterns, and lead environmental impact assessments. They graduate ready to work with government regulatory agencies, marine protection groups, and industrial fishing fleets to ensure long-term marine security.
Graduates of the program will be proficient in:
Graduates can pursue roles such as:
Monitor. Protect. Sustain.
Take charge of the wild waters. Protect aquatic resources, combat illegal overfishing, and manage the sustainable harvest of our oceans and rivers with the Fisheries Management program.
